On-Site Witness Inspection in Brazil
It is evident that the global COVID-19 pandemic has required innovation to allow any business to continue to survive and thrive. Here at Flexlife this has been evident in a number of different ways.
The Company has accelerated Brazilian expansion plans, employing locals, rather than mobilising UK nationals, as was the previous norm. This has proven to be effective and Flexlife’s four-man Brazilian team are performing very well. One of the key projects has been the QAQC support for a Brazilian manufactured flexible pipeline system which has been successfully delivered, despite the COVID-19 issues. This pipeline, destined for W Africa on 4,300 tonne reels, is scheduled for loadout next week.
Another coping mechanism has been to utilise the Company’s global supply chain to avoid the need for travel. Some of Flexlife’s trusted suppliers from Denmark, Italy and Spain have been able to assist by carrying out Factory Acceptance Test witness services, supported remotely by our team of experts.
The core team’s air miles have been dramatically reduced but perhaps this will become the new normal. Either way, 2020 was a successful year for Flexlife and so far 2021 continues in similar vein, albeit without the unwelcome disruption.
