Flexlife has signed an exclusive partnership to use of artificial intelligence to monitor subsea risers and structures.
Flexlife will partner with Rio Analytics to use their unique Artificial Neural Network (ANN) Solutions in the Gulf of Mexico and further afield.
The virtual sensors embedded within the ANNs will allow oil and gas operators to accumulate reliable, long-term data from subsea areas which are impossible for real sensors to measure – such as measuring flexible risers or SCR stress on a FPSO.
Kirk Francis, Regional Director of Flexlife in Houston, said: “Our partnership will focus on the use of AI for specific applications which provide tangible and useful benefits for subsea integrity. Harnessing this technology is vital for operators wishing to monitor and extend the life of their critical assets and it builds on Flexlife’s track record of advanced technological solutions.
Victor Chaves, CEO of RIO analytics, said: “Flexlife full life cycle engineering and integrity management expertise for risers and flow-lines complimented by RIO analytics’ artificial intelligence technology will provide safe, accurate and advanced life extension analysis for oil and gas operators.“
Flexlife and Rio Analytics will sign the partnership agreement during OTC at a lunch reception on Wednesday, 2nd May, 12:15pm – 2pm, at Party Suite 327 in the NRG Centre (enter through the BHP Billiton Entrance).
