Touch Down Protection (TDP)

The Protection Armadillo TM is a flexible riser intervention ‘tool’ intended for deployment within the Touch Down Point/Region (TDP) of a flexible pipe to provide protection against abrasion of the outer sheath on the seabed.

The Protection Armadillo TM will provide outer sheath protection against coral, rock, sand and any pipe on pipe damage. The Protection Armadillo TM will be deployed in the following scenarios:

1. To prevent/protect the riser from dynamic abrasion damage at the TDP.
2. As a dynamic and longer lasting alternative to using current surface mounted PU protective systems or similar.
