FlexGel

FlexGel™ is a new solution to a common problem encountered by operators where flexible risers or umbilicals suffer damage to the outer sheath within caissons.

The FlexGel product is intended to be deployed in the case of annulus breaches within an I-Tube or J-Tube displacing the sea water and as such mitigation the effects of a splash zone environment. in doing so the gel will mitigate further corrosion in the structural tensile armour wires of the flexible pipe, increasing the life of the riser otherwise destined to be replaced under current best practice.

The oil based product is non soluble and it’s density can be tuned depending on the application with the intention to prevent oxygen ingress into damaged areas. FlexGel is an environmentally friendly product and is Cefas approved.
