Case Studies
Our employees have experience on numerous flexible pipe projects.
Their experience ranges from tie-backs to deep water (approx 1500m)
including supply management installation and recovery.

| Project: |
Hess - Neptune Scanning of Triton Risers |
| Client: |
Hess Limited |
| Description: |
flexlife completed the first ever scanning of a flexible riser annulus offshore using ultrasonic technology and were able to provide 100% accuracy of annulus flooding and also to provide high resolution images of the armour wires under the outer sheath. Deployment, attachment, detachment and recovery were performed to meet strict safety and integrity conditions. The ROV was deployed from the FPSO and testing was carried out in depths of 20-30meters and currents approaching one knot.

Inpex Browse Ichthys Gas Field Development |
| Client: |
Inpex Browse/Intec/Granherne |
| Description: |
Gas Condensate field Development offshore Australia; permit area WA-285-P is
located in the Browse Basin approximately 440 km north of Broome and 800 km
south-west of Darwin. Drilling Campaigns in 2000 and 2003 resulted in a significant
hydrocarbon gas and condensate discovery known as the "Ichthys Field". The
flexible riser system for the Ichthys development is planned consist of multiple
dynamic risers and umbilicals (approximately 30) ranging in size from 4in MEG /
Service lines up to 16in Gas Export risers, with 12in production lines at pressure
and temperature (380 barg, 105oC), situated in 260m of water depth, attached to
a Semi Submersible.
flexlife are assisting both Inpex Browse and Intec/Granherne in aspects of the
engineering at pre-FEED stage:
Inpex Browse
- Production of a Packaging and Installation Assessment.
- This assessment is a review of preliminary pipe designs and dynamic riser systems
for risks and suitability for packaging, transportation, and installation.
Intec/Granherne
- Third party review of Intec / Granherne riser system design analysis.
- Execution of Steep Wave riser configuration dynamic analysis and riser system fatigue
analysis.

Addax Okwori Phase III |
| Client: |
Subsea7 |
| Description: |
The Okwori Field Development Phase III is based around a converted
FPSO, the Sendje Berg, spread moored in approximately 140m of
water in sector OPL 90 offshore Nigeria.
Subsea7 have been contracted to supply five off 6 inch production
risers and associated flowlines, along with five off 1 ¼ inch bore gas
lift integrated umbilicals, arranged in a free hanging catenary
configuration.
flexlife are assisting Subsea7 in the Delivery Management of this
project in terms of :
- Review of flexible pipe design and manufacturing
documentation
- Technical support to Subsea7 for all aspects of the flexible pipe
supply contract
- Dynamic analysis of flexible riser and dynamic umbilical system
to ensure the system design with the additional scope is
compliant with the COMPANY requirements

Technology
We are developing products for remaining service life assessment. Our products will allow for annulus condition to be assessed in minutes rather than hours.
We will also be able to offer reliable real time riser monitoring systems. They will be simple and feed a decision matrix allowing the operator to know what to do and when immediately.
We use OrcaFlex for the system design of riser systems and associated ancillary equipment as well as dynamic installation analysis, providing in our opinion the best and most flexible software solution to our analysis requirements.
